Nestled between the mountains and the waters of Lake Garda, Limone is a hidden gem that has enchanted travellers, artists and poets for centuries. During his “Italian Journey” in 1786, Goethe observed it from a boat, describing it as “a spectacle of wealth and grace”.

Limone, the microclimate of Lake Garda
Limone sul Garda has a really unique microclimate – it is the northernmost place in the world where citrus fruits can be grown. For this reason, it is full of traditional greenhouses and lemon houses, which have been preserved over time.
The extraordinary Mediterranean microclimate is what makes this place really one-of-a-kind. Protected by the mountains and kissed by the sun, in Limone the temperatures remain mild even in the coldest months, making it perfect for the cultivation of lemons, cedars and oranges. The ancient lemon houses, first introduced when the town was under Venetian rule, still tell the tale of a thriving agricultural economy.
Nowadays, Limone is a lively and welcoming village, where tradition meets wellbeing. Its narrow streets, the colours, the scent of citrus fruits, the Mediterranean vegetation and the lake views create a timeless atmosphere, to be experienced in every season.
